Kinshasa, November 1st, 2026 (CPA). – Concrete and operational strategies to maximise the revenues of the city of Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), have been put in place during a working session chaired by the governor at the provincial governor’s office, according to a press release consulted on Sunday by CPA. “At the heart of the discussions: the implementation of concrete and operational strategies to maximise the revenues of the city of Kinshasa. The discussions have focused in particular on the identification of revenue-raising levers, the strengthening of control mechanisms, the fight against tax fraud and the improvement of the performance of financial authorities”, it is read in the press release from the Kinshasa Control and Stamping Authority (RCEKIN). According to the text, the Governor of the city of Kinshasa, Daniel Bumba, has haired an important working session bringing together the heads of all the capital’s financial authorities, accompanied by their experts. “The meeting took place in the presence of the Provincial Minister in charge of Planning, the Budget, Tourism and the Civil Service, Jesus-Noel Sheke, as well as members of the Governor’s office,” the text has added. Taking part in this meeting, the same source has indicated that the General Director of the Kinshasa Control and Stamp Duty Authority (RCEKIN), Ms Bijoux Kalenga, has outlined the challenges associated with the introduction of the stamp duty, as part of its first phase of implementation. “She has emphasised the need to have the sustained support of the city authorities to ensure that this revenue is utilised to the full,” the document has continued. She has also reaffirmed the RCEKIN’s commitment to helping realise the “Kinshasa ezo bonga” programme by combating commercial fraud and counterfeiting, as well as by strengthening revenue collection for the benefit of the people of Kinshasa. These discussions have made it possible to identify the difficulties encountered on the ground and to examine possible solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of the services concerned and sustainably increasing the city’s revenue. “The objective is clear: to translate the provincial government’s guidelines into concrete, measurable and effective actions, in order to strengthen Kinshasa’s financial capacity and support its development,” the text has concluded.
