Isiro, October 18th, 2026 (CPA).- The population has been called upon to support President of the Republic Félix Tshisekedi for his efforts to restore peace and to reject all forms of rebellion, following a march held on Saturday in Isiro, the capital of Haut-Uele Province, in the northeastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
“We thank all the communities for their support for the Head of State. We reject all forms of rebellion in our province of Haut-Uele and throughout our country. We must remain united behind the President of the Republic and vigilant in defending national sovereignty. I appeal to everyone’s sense of patriotism,” said Jean Bakomito, Governor of Haut-Uele.
“Joseph Kabila governed this country for 18 years. We do not want enemies of the Republic, and we reject rebels. We thank young people for their cooperation with the security services. Let nothing divide us. Beware of rumours and promptly report any suspicious movements. Let us work together in the supreme interest of the country, rather than betray it. Security is everyone’s responsibility,” he added. The march in support of President Félix Tshisekedi and the institutions of the Republic brought together the president of the Provincial Assembly and provincial lawmakers, provincial ministers, members of the provincial government, customary authorities, officials and activists from political parties belonging to the Sacred Union of the Nation, religious denominations, community organizations and representatives of all social groups in the city.
