Judicial Affairs and Human Rights Trial of robber Honorine: verdict set for Wednesday, November 26th

Kinshasa, November 19th, 2026 (CPA) – The verdict in the trial of robber Honorine Porsche and her co-defendants, who are being tried for terrorism and armed robbery, has been set for Wednesday, November 26, during a hearing held Wednesday at the military garrison court in Kinshasa-Gombe, Democratic Republic of Congo.

“The court considers itself sufficiently informed, it is taking the case under advisement and will deliver its verdict next Wednesday,” said presiding judge Major Freddy Eume. Before the court’s decision, the floor was given to the defense of the defendant Honorine Porsche, who continued her closing argument, which had been interrupted during the hearing on Tuesday, November 18th, due to rain that had fallen on Kinshasa in the early evening.  In its closing arguments, the defense emphasized the psychological state of its client, asking the court to acquit her. It also insisted on the medical report presented throughout the investigation. “Your Honor, we ask your court to acquit our client and release her in light of her psychological state,” argued Honorine Porsche’s defense team. At the previous hearing, the prosecutor had requested a life sentence for the defendant Honorine.  “May your court find the defendant Honorine Porsche guilty of the charges against her and sentence her to life imprisonment,” requested the representative of the public prosecutor’s office.

After all the defendants were given the opportunity to make their final statements, they proclaimed their innocence and requested acquittal. Honorine Porsche and her co-defendants are being prosecuted on several charges, including terrorism, criminal conspiracy, and armed robbery, for events that occurred on October 16th during the robbery of the Rawbank branch located on Place Victoire in the center of the Congolese capital.
