Kenge, May 18th, 2025 (CPA).- The tenants of Kenge central prison in Kwango province (south-west of the Democratic Republic of Congo) have benefited on Saturday of a donation of material goods, from an association, on the occasion of the day of May 17th, dedicated to the Armed Forces of DRC, CPA has learned from an administrative source.
‘We are delighted and surprised to see the Friends of Junior Mata M’Elanga (AJMM-asbl) come and surprise us today with a large consignment of foodstuffs to help meet the needs of prisoners in the Kenge penitentiary,’ has declared Mr Yves Mabenga, director of the Kenge central prison.
He has at this occasion called on other partners to support the work of finishing the latrines of this prison, to allow the improvement of the living conditions of its tenants. For this non-profit association, it has been a question of joining its efforts to those of the President of the Republic, to send its warmest wishes to the defence and security forces on the occasion of the celebrations. ‘This special day has also been dedicated to our brothers and sisters detained in Kenge central prison for a courtesy visit with food, on behalf of our association called the Friends of Junior Mata M’Elanga, in its social section,’ has said Bertrand Bulantulu Sefu, coordinator of this structure in the greater Bandundu area.
