Foreign trade: Copper registers an increase of 0.45℅ internationally.

Kinshasa, June 12th, 2025(CPA).- The price of a tonne of copper, an export product of the Democratic Republic of Congo, showed an increase of 0.45% internationally in the week from 9 to 14 June 2025, trading at 9,646.50 US dollars compared with 9,603.05 the previous week, according to a press release consulted on Thursday by the CPA. ‘The price of a ton of copper rose on the international markets between June 9th and 14th, 2025. The ore was trading at USD 9,646.50 in the week under review, compared with USD 9,603.05 the previous week, an increase of 0.45% per ton’, read the press release from the Ministry in charge of Foreign Trade. According to the source, this slight rise in price comes against a backdrop of cautious recovery in industrial demand, particularly in China, the world’s main consumer of copper. According to the document, although this increase is modest, it is a positive signal for export revenues and operators in the mining sector. On the other hand, the volatility of prices, often influenced by geopolitical tensions and the monetary policies of the major economies, calls for constant vigilance. In the short term, the outlook will depend heavily on data on industrial consumption and world stocks.ACP/
