Inongo, November 16th, 2025 (CPA) – The governor of Mai-Ndombe, in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has announced on Saturday the asphalting of 7 km of road and the modernisation of Inongo aerodrome, the main town of the province, during a meeting on his return from Kinshasa. « In addition, we thank His Excellency the President of the Republic, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, for his love for our province of Mai-Ndombe. In a short time, we will benefit from a 7 km asphalt road and the modernisation of our aerodrome, not to mention the other projects that is underway, » has declared Lebon Nkoso Kevani, governor of Mai-Ndombe province. « On that note, I would like to thank all the groups represented here. The Head of State advocates peace. For our part, we have made great efforts to reach all territories and visit the various places where there was insecurity in order to restore peace. We still have to visit the territory of Oshwe, where we plan to spend our end-of-year celebrations. The Head of State aims to protect the east of our country and Kwamouth against the Mobondo. That is why we are compelled to support the Head of State’s vision, » he has added. During his address, Mr Kevani has specified that « the President of the Republic wants development for Mai-Ndombe, and this will not be limited to Inongo; actions will also extend to our eight territories. « We have fought hard to ensure that our Mai-Ndombe is recognised like all other provinces. You cannot develop a province without a compass. In this regard, we have drawn up a provincial development plan covering a five-year period from 2026 to 2030. Those who come after us will be able to follow these guidelines in order to complete this action plan, if possible, » he has explained. He has also encouraged the youth of Mai-Ndombe for responding favourably to his ‘Elenge Longa Nzala’ project, affirming that these young people are capable of providing for themselves. ACP/
