Kinshasa, February 18th, 2026 (CPA) – Regulations and conditions for obtaining authorization to organize cultural events at the “Martyrs of Pentecost” stadium in Kinshasa, DRC, have been strengthened by the stadium management committee, according to administrative sources. “We have established strict regulations that not only cover the supervision of cultural performances but also place special emphasis on security, technical capacity, and infrastructure preservation. Conditions will be required for any artist with national or international recognition and a solid fan base before being scheduled at the Martyrs Stadium,” said Dadou Ethambe, stadium administrator.
“The availability of the schedule and compliance with security commitments are also strictly considered before granting authorization,” he added. Technical compatibility of performances with available equipment is carefully evaluated. “Productions must demonstrate that they can be executed with the stadium’s technical resources, including sound, lighting, and logistics,” he stated. Recent modernization works by the government, under the oversight of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), have improved the infrastructure and ensured compliance with international standards. The goal, according to the administrator, is to enhance the image of this public sports facility and increase its attractiveness for major events in the capital. Accessibility for people with reduced mobility has been improved, widening the potential audience. “A specific crowd management system has been implemented for high-attendance events. This includes planning entry and exit flows, deploying sufficient security personnel, installing surveillance systems, and providing medical teams,” he revealed. To protect the pitch, temporary structures are used, and maintenance periods are observed before and after each event in coordination with CAF. “Our objective is to balance large-scale performances with sporting requirements while ensuring public safety and economic profitability,” Ethambe concluded. This decision to strengthen stadium rental conditions was taken preventively to avoid recurring incidents that previously caused casualties among music fans during concerts by Congolese artists Fally Ipupa and Mike Kalambayi. With a capacity of up to 130,000 spectators, the Martyrs Stadium is considered a pillar of Kinshasa’s identity, reflecting popular enthusiasm for music, sports, and politics.
