Kinshasa, February 2nd, 2026 (CPA). – The temporary opening of Ludisu Avenue, currently under renovation in N’djili, a municipality in eastern Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, was requested on Monday from the relevant authorities to allow patients on foot to access the main entrance of the Sino-Congolese Friendship Hospital, according to administrative sources. ‘Faced with this difficulty, we respectfully request the intervention of the competent authorities to authorize, on a temporary basis, the opening of Ludisu Avenue, leading to the main gate of our hospital, exclusively for patients who are on foot,’ said José Lipekene, medical director of the Sino-Congolese Friendship Hospital.
‘As part of the rehabilitation work on Ludisu Road, the passageways have been closed for several months. This situation forces users, particularly patients and their companions, to make long detours via another avenue in order to access only the rear entrance of the hospital,’ he added.
Mr Lipekene said that this measure would facilitate access to the facility and relieve users throughout the construction period, pending the complete reopening of the road to vehicle traffic.
‘This access has become particularly difficult, even a real ordeal for the sick, the elderly and pregnant women,’ he concluded.
