Koffi Olomide urges the Congolese musicians to unite for their productions abroad

Kinshasa, April 26th, 2026 (CPA).- The singer Koffi Olomide from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has urged, on Saturday, the Congolese musicians to prioritise the mutual understanding to avoid clashing over their performances abroad, during his appearance on a local television channel, CPA has noticed. “I ask all my fellow musicians to avoid clashing when performing abroad, particularly in the same cities such as in Belgium, and to prioritise mutual understanding, unless the other concert is taking place very far away, for example in the United States,” has declared Koffi Olomide during his appearance on the programme ‘Ndule’ broadcast on Netic-News TV. With a busy July approaching in Europe featuring performances by Congolese artists: Werrason, Heritier Watanabe, Ferre Gola and himself, the leader of the “Quartier Latin International” orchestra has, moreover, wished the best for the various concerts by Congolese musicians and invited music lovers to “put divisions aside” in order to prioritise unity, even on the international stage. For him, the unity of Congolese artists abroad is a guarantee of the influence of the national culture. “We must speak with one voice when we represent the country beyond our borders,” he has insisted. On the programme, he has addressed several other topical issues, notably the choice of the ‘permanent’ guest for his concert at the King Baudouin Stadium in Belgium, which fell on Ferre Gola. As for his musical news, Koffi Olomide had recently given an exclusive interview to La Jeunesse, during which the singer had discussed several topics relating to his career, notably the genius behind the composition of his songs, revealing that he is the author of 80% of his extensive discography.
