Middle East: Israel threatens to intensify its attacks against Hezbollah

Kinshasa, November 2nd, 2025 (CPA). – The Israeli government has threatened on Sunday to intensify the attacks against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, where its Ministry in charge of Health had reported the previous day that four people had been killed in an Israeli strike, have reported the international media. « The pro-Iranian group is playing with fire; the Lebanese President is dragging his feet. The strict application of the measures will continue and will be reinforced. We will not tolerate any threats against the residents of northern Israel, » has declared Israel Katz, Israeli Minister in charge of Defence. ‘The Lebanese government’s commitment to disarm Hezbollah and drive it out of southern Lebanon must be fully respected,’ he has added. According to the same sources, thousands of Israelis living near the northern border with Lebanon had been forced to evacuate their homes for months after Hezbollah the opening of a front against Israel following the outbreak of the war in Gaza in October 2023. Despite a ceasefire agreed in November 2024 with the Lebanese Shiite group, Israel continues to carry out regular strikes against it in its Lebanese strongholds and to occupy five border points in southern Lebanon. It should be noted that the rocket fire by the Lebanese movement have triggered a conflict lasting more than a year, which has culminated in two months of open war with Israel, before a ceasefire was reached last year.

‘Israel responds to my offer of dialogue by intensifying its attacks’ (Lebanese President)

Meanwhile, Lebanese President Joseph Aouna has accused Israel of responding to his offer of dialogue by intensifying its attacks, before a new Israeli strike kills four people last Saturday in the south of the country, in the district of Nabatiyeh. However, the Israeli army has confirmed the strike, claiming to have targeted a member of the Radwan Force, an elite Hezbollah unit. ‘The terrorist was involved in the transfer of weapons and attempts to rebuild Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon,’ the army has indicated.

‘The activities of these terrorists constitute a threat to the State of Israel and its civilians, as well as a violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon,’ the army has specified.
