Mining: holders of mining rights urged to submit proof of payment (Mining Cadaster)

Kinshasa, May 5th, 2026 (CPA) – Holders of mining and quarry rights in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been urged by a public institution to submit, within 30 days, the original copies of their proof of payment at its counters, according to a statement received by CPA on Monday. “The Mining Cadaster (Cami) invites holders of mining and/or quarry rights to submit, within 30 days, the original copies of proof of payment at its counters,” the statement from the Mining Cadaster read.

According to the source, the Mining Cadaster reminded the concerned holders that, in accordance with Article 196 of the Mining Code, the payment of the full amount of annual surface fees is one of the obligations required to maintain the validity of their rights. However, the statement noted that as of April 20th,  2026, although payments of annual surface fees corresponding to the CAMI share had been recorded, those relating to the Public Treasury share for holders of mining and quarry rights were not reflected in the extracts of daily statements from the revenue-collecting authority (DGRAD) made available to CAMI, even though they are accessible on the institution’s website.
