Kinshasa, February 3rd, 2026 (CPA/MAP).- Morocco and Qatar have begun high-level discussions to strengthen their cooperation on digital transformation and artificial intelligence, with a view to build concrete technological partnerships geared towards measurable results, the Moroccan press agency has reported on Tuesday. Discussions between the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ms Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, and the Qatari Minister in charge of Communications and Information Technology, Mr Mohammed Bin Ali Al Mannai,  have focused primarily on the two countries’ national strategies for digital transformation, the use of artificial intelligence in public services and the development of e-government, with a particular emphasis on the sharing of expertise between administrations, according to a statement from the Ministry in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform. The two ministers have also reviewed the progress made by their respective countries in adopting artificial intelligence technologies, while reviewing the main national programmes and strategic foundations that structure this dynamic.

The discussions have therefore highlighted the importance of integrating AI into improving the quality of services for citizens and optimising the performance of public action. With this in mind, the planned cooperation covers several technical aspects related to the development of artificial intelligence models adapted to national contexts, in particular through linguistic models that take into account national languages and cultural specificities. The discussions have also focused on computing capabilities, strengthening cloud infrastructure, data interoperability, establishing frameworks for information exchange between institutions, and developing digital identity systems and reliable verification mechanisms.

The two parties have expressed a shared ambition to move towards concrete, useful partnerships focused on measurable results, in the service of digital sovereignty and economic performance. The talks have also placed significant emphasis on the digital economy and the revitalisation of innovation ecosystems in both nations, with the aim of supporting the digital transformation while strengthening sustainable development.
