Kinshasa, April 3rd, 2025 (CPA/Xinhua) – The capital of the Republic of Congo, Brazzaville, will host on April 15th, the 16th conference of presidents of the African sections of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Franco phony (APF) as reported on Wednesday by the China News Agency.
This meeting, crucial for French-speaking parliamentarians from sections of the APF’s Africa region, has the aim of uniting the continent’s parliaments with a view to adopt positions capable of influencing certain global choices in various fields. ‘The 16th Conference of Presidents of Assemblies and Sections of the APF Africa Region will consist, among other things, of adopting our roadmap for the period 2025-2026. The French-speaking parliaments of Africa have a duty to assert themselves as key players in democracy, development, stability and peace’, has declared Isidore Mvouba, President of the National Assembly of Congo, at a meeting with the ambassadors of member countries on April 1st in Brazzaville.
According to Mr Mvouba, the conference of presidents of the African region of the APF has become, over the years, a political forum for debate, proposals and exchange of information on the subjects of common interest to African parliamentarians.
