Kinshasa, January 26th, 2026 (CPA).-A delegation of artists from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has taken part last weekend in the biometric identification process at the Renaissance University Hospital Centre (CHUR), according to a statement from the National Agency for Clinical and Digital Health Engineering (ANICNS) consulted on Monday by CPA. ‘At the end of the operation, the artists have received their national health insurance cards (CNAM), allowing them to easily access the universal health insurance system set up by DRC government through the Health Solidarity Fund (the terms and conditions for contributions and access to care will be announced very soon),’ it is read. The source indicates that the first phase of biometric identification is continuing in Kinshasa and currently concerns the military, police and workers in the formal sector (public and private).
This delegation of artists has been led by the General Director of the Social Assistance Fund for Congolese Artists and Writers (FASAEC). ANICNS is responsible for the digital transformation of the healthcare system and clinical engineering to facilitate the implementation of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in DRC.
