Sanitation in Kinshasa: the Presidential Task Force provides its teams with logistical support

Kinshasa, July 15th, 2026 (CPA). – The teams from the Presidential Task Force have been provided with logistical support on Wednesday, ahead of the launching of sanitation works scheduled for Thursday at the main builders’ camp in N’sele, a municipality in eastern Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), according to a press release.

“To ensure the effectiveness of this operation, the Task Force coordinator has provided the teams with 50 new motorbikes, 20 pick-up trucks and 34 large 30-tonne BN lorries – logistical resources intended to facilitate the removal of waste and its processing at appropriate sites,” it is read in the Presidential Task Force’s press release. According to the text, the Presidential Task Force is organising its troops on Wednesday under the coordination of Lieutenant-General Kasongo Kabwik, accompanied by his deputy coordinator David Mukeba. The document has indicated that this organisation of the Presidential Task Force’s troops is taking place in the run-up to the launching of the clean-up operations in the city of Kinshasa, scheduled for Thursday in N’sele, at the main builders’ camp where the various battalions are based. If the source is to be believed, the Task Force is calling on all residents of Kinshasa to strictly respect public spaces and the laws in force, specifying that the prescribed penalties will be applied to citizens who fail to comply with the clean-up rules.  “The cleanliness of Kinshasa is a collective responsibility. Change begins with a change of mindset: let us love our city and protect our environment so that we may live longer and healthier lives,” the statement has noted.
