Kinshasa, April 21st, 2026 (CPA).- The documentary film “Women in the DRC, Forces in Motion” was presented as a strategic tool to transform emotion into concrete partnerships in favor of women’s leadership, during its official screening on Monday at the Wallonia-Brussels Centre in Kinshasa, CPA learned Tuesday from an official source. “On behalf of the Minister of Gender, Family and Children (GFAE), Micheline Ombae Kalama, I extend the Government’s thanks for this strong and necessary initiative. This film has reminded us of an obvious truth: the DRC is not transforming despite its women. It is transforming thanks to them,” said Fosca Muteba, Administrative Advisor in the Minister’s cabinet.
She emphasized the political significance of the work. “By giving voice to women who innovate, resist and build in the economic, social and political spheres, you have done an act of justice. You have shown the world that the forces in motion of this country have a face, and that this face is often female,” she added. Ms. Muteba reiterated three key commitments of the ministry, including the integration of women’s voices into all public policies and the transformation of the film into a national educational tool.
“This evening is not an end. It is a starting point. The movement has begun. It is up to us—institutions, partners and citizens—to amplify it (…) to turn the emotion of this film into concrete partnerships for women in the DRC,” she concluded. The project, produced by the “Team Europe Initiative”, benefits from technical and financial support from several partners including the German Cooperation (GIZ), BGR, the French Development Agency (AFD), the Belgian development agency Enabel, Swiss cooperation, Dutch cooperation, and the European Union.
