Kisangani, June 11th, 2025 (CPA) – The Urban agreement of basketball of Kisangani, of Tshopo, in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)has announced, on Wednesday, during an interview, the organisation, from June 28th to 30th, in Kisangani, of the second edition of the inter-city tournament of basketball of the under 20 years old in the two versions. ‘The 2nd edition of the U20 inter-city basketball tournament will be organised in Kisangani from June 28th to 30th, 2025′, has declared Fabrice Kazadi, president of the urban agreement of basketball of Kisangani (Eubakis). ‘The competition will be open to U20 teams from the various participating cities, in both versions,’ he has added. According to him, the representative teams from Bunia, Beni, Butembo and Isiro are expected in Kisangani, where technical meetings are scheduled for June 27th, the day before the tournament kicks off.
The Febaco, initiator of the inter-city tournament
According to Fabrice Kazadi, the organisation of the second edition of this competition is an initiative of the Congo Basketball Federation (Febaco), as stipulated in a related letter dated May 29th and signed by its president Kabongo Biaya Paulin. The official announcement of the tournament is contained in a letter sent by the Congolese Basketball Federation (FEBACO) to the presidents of the leagues and associations concerned. It states that in addition to the city of Kisangani, the second edition of the U20 inter-city basketball tournament will also be organised across the country, specifically in Kinshasa, Kolwezi, Kalemie, Matadi, Beni, Kananga and Kikwit.
