Volleyball: the African Zone 4 Championship postponed from November 21st to December 1st

Kinshasa, Oct. 15^th, 2025 (CPA). – The 11^th edition of the African Zone 4 Club Championship, initially scheduled for November 14^th to 23^rd in Douala, Cameroon, has been postponed from November 21st to December 1st for organisational reasons, according to a letter from the African Volleyball Confederation addressed to the national federations. ‘We are pleased to inform you that the 11th edition of the African Club Championship for senior women and men of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Zone 4, originally scheduled for November 14^th to 23^rd, 2025, has been postponed to new dates, from November 21st to December 1st 2025, in Douala, Cameroon,’ it is read. According to this letter signed by Bello Bourdanne, President of the CAVB Zone 4, the national federations are invited to register their teams by sending their forms to the general secretariat of this continental netball sports body by October 24^th at the latest.  According to the source, each national federation must then confirm the final participation of its clubs by providing the following documents: the final registration form, the typed form, the confirmed travel details, and a clear copy of the bank transfer certifying payment of the participation fees, no later than November 13^th.  Furthermore, it should be noted that no confirmation will be accepted without proof of payment (clear digital copy of the bank transfer) by the above-mentioned deadline.  

The participation fee for the competition is set at USD 1,000

To ensure the smooth running of this continental competition, the CAVB Zone 4 has set the participation fee at USD 1,000 (one thousand US dollars). ‘The net participation fee is set at USD 1,000 (one thousand US dollars), to be transferred to the official bank account of the CAVB Zone 4,’ the source has emphasised. According to the document, each club must be accompanied by an international referee and provide a contribution of USD 50 (fifty US dollars) per night per member of the delegation. In order to prevent fraud, the original document must be presented during the preliminary investigation. As a reminder, DRC will take part in the 11^th edition of this African Zone 4 Club Championship (seniors), in both the men’s and women’s versions.   

The revised competition schedule

According to the source, following the postponement of this competition, the revised schedule is as follows:

•    Friday November 21^st, 2025: arrival of delegations;

•    Saturday November 22^nd, 2025: technical meeting;

•    Sunday November 23^rd to Sunday November 30^th, 2025: competition;

•    Monday December 1^st, 2025: departure of delegations.
