Kinshasa, April 8th, 2021 (CPA).– The film production company « Labson Bizizi-ciné Kongo Ltd » proceeded on Tuesday evening to the official launch of the documentary film project entitled « Mfumu Kimbangu: a black savior », announced on Wednesday Ne Kunda Nlaba, director and general manager of this film production house, during an interview with CPA.
According to the latter, the date of April 6th was chosen for the launch of this project, because it marks the centenary of the mission of Simon Kimbangu in Nkamba city, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, before adding that the exit of this documentary is scheduled for the current year.
“Mfumu Kimbangu: a black savior” is a feature-length documentary recounting the story of the prophet Kongo, Simon Kimbangu, founder of the religious movement “Kimbaguism”.
Born on September 12th, 1887 in Nkamba, in Kongo Central province, Simon Kimbangu was imprisoned for 30 years by the Belgian colonial regime for having campaigned for the spiritual, political, scientific and economic independence of Africa.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1921, and was transferred to Elisabethville prison in Katanga. He died on October 12th, 1951. He was proclaimed “Mvuluzi” in French “Sauveur”, he concluded. ACP /Kayu/AWa
