Kinshasa, May 22nd, 2021 (CPA) .- An interministerial commission met Thursday around the Minister of State, Minister of the Budget, Aimé Boji, to examine, harmonize and specify the strategy likely to provide solutions to the humanitarian needs of populations affected by the state of siege, in order to permanently eradicate insecurity in this part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This Interministerial Commission, initiated by three members of the government and adopted during the last Council of Ministers, brought together in addition to the Ministry of the Budget, those of the delegate in charge of people living with disabilities, Irène Esambo, vocational training, Antoinette Kipulu, Affairs social, Modeste Mutinga, Gender, Family and Children, Ndaya Luseba, Human Rights, Albert Fabrice Pwela, Health, Jean-Jacques Mbungani, and the Vice-Minister of Budget, Élysé Bokumwana Maposo. To this end, the Minister in charge of Social Affairs, Modeste Mutinga, confirmed to the Press that all the batteries have just been started for the realization of this process.
This meeting of the Humanitarian Response Committee, which was held at the express request of the Prime Minister during the last ministerial council, was decided that particular attention by the government be given to what is happening in the east of the country, after the establishment of the state of siege. « We have just developed all the tools necessary to start this urgent activity, » said the Minister of Social Affairs, who specifies that the government is looking for the means, on the orders of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister to resolve this thorny problem which prevails in the eastern part of the country.
He pointed out that although being at the end of the fiscal year, the government, at the request of the President of the Republic, will make available the means to respond to the humanitarian response. “We are therefore looking for the means by order of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister. We believe that the government will find these means to solve the problem of insecurity in this part of the country,”he added. The Minister of State in charge of the Budget, Aimé Boji Sangara, sensitive to the situation of the populations of the eastern part of the DRC, indicated that the government will do all it can to ensure that the necessary means are made available to this humanitarian government response committee.
