According to the source, the convening of this meeting follows the determination of the President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, who reiterated during the last Council of Ministers, his desire to close the private and clandestine ports which suffocate the economy. national country.

These ports, says the source, have a negative impact on the competitiveness of the Commercial Transport and Ports Company (SCTP) whose revenues come mainly from port activities, and led to its bankruptcy. It is this situation that prompted the Head of State to instruct the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the Homeland, the Minister of State in charge of justice and the Minister of Transport, means of communication and opening up. , to produce a detailed report on this issue in order to put an end to this situation.

The source specifies that the Minister of Transport Okende will have to present this report to the next Council of Ministers and that in the meantime, major decisions of the Minister of Transport are being heard in the coming days, which measures must clean up and put an end to anarchy and the closure of illegal and clandestine ports.
