Kinshasa, May 10th, 2023 (CPA) – As Ejeuna has knelt before AC Matonge on Tuesday (0-2) at the Police Nationale Congolaise (PNC), in the 36th day of the division I championship of Entente Urbaine de Football de Kinshasa (EUFKIN)-Malebo, in Democratic Republic of Congo.
The match was a very decisive one, with many twists and turns, and it produced its effects right from the start. AC Matonge took the lead in the 21st minute through Mukoko Maneka Akim. Despite this goal, the pressure and the atmosphere of the match remained on and off for both competitors throughout the first half of the game.
At the start of the second half, the suspense remained. The visiting team managed to win the game by doubling the lead through Eyala Ngaliema (69th). The score remained sealed until the referee whistled the end of the game (0-2) in favour of AC Matonge.
« We certainly played our best game in terms of structuring the game and respecting the system. Today, I wanted to see if we could respect the discipline of the game again, because we have performances: we lost against As Ejeuna in the first leg, and today in the second leg, we have just won a very good match. My opponent did not lose either, he played well but we want to have a very good position at all costs, given that the end of the championship is on the horizon, » said the coach of AC Matonge, United States Muambi Mutoke.
As for his colleague from As Ejeuna, Patrick Bengo did not want to say a word to CPA about the failure of his colts.
« The coach had already motivated us before the match. I personally am happy with the fact that I helped my team to get these three precious points. When I saw my team lose its first two good chances in the first quarter of an hour, I pushed high to score the second goal of my sports formation, » said the scorer of the first goal of AC Matonge, Mukoko Maneka Akim.
