Félix Tshisekedi supports government initiatives to lower the prices of basic necessities

Kinshasa, August 7th, 2021 (CPA).– President of the Republic, FélixAntoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, expressed his support for government initiatives to lower the prices of basic necessities, during an exchange he had, Thursday, in his office with the Minister of National Economy, Jean-Marie Kalumba Yuma.

The Head of State Félix Tshisekedi, on this occasion, wanted to show, personally, his support for the Government’s initiatives in the search for a « fair price » for basic necessities and will absolutely have to extend to others. sectors directly linked to the “social of the population”.

He also stressed the need to scrupulously enforce economic regulations and to deploy all necessary efforts to preserve the purchasing power of the population both cyclically and structurally.

The Head of State and the Minister of the Economy discussed mainly the work in progress within the Ministry of the National Economy relating to the rationalization of the price structures of basic products as well as the tariffs of air services. . This work is carried out under the supervision of the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel SamaLukondeKienge.

Minister Jean Marie Kalumba informed the President of the Republic that the work to revise the structure of air service tariffs has been completely completed, and that the drop in prices in this sector will be ratified by a ministerial decree, the signing of which will take place in the next hours.ACP/
