First Lady Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi reassures FARDC of the support of the Republic

Kinshasa, May 15th, 2021 (CPA).– The First Lady of the Republic, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, reassured the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC), support from the whole Republic, in a message addressed to elements of these Forces at the front to put an end to the massacres in the eastern part of the country, through the state of siege established by the President of the Republic, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.

« You are not alone, the whole Republic is with you. Our prayers support you for every centimeter of the national territory to be secured”, she wrote on her Face book page.

Declaring a state of siege, the Head of State, in his address to the nation on May 3rd, 2021, called for unity to restore peace and security in DRC.

“Lasting peace is the sine qua non of our happiness and the development of our country. I therefore call on all Congolese to fully mobilize to stand up to our armed forces deployed to secure our territory. To this end, I urge the entire Congolese people to adopt a responsible attitude in all respects « , launched Felix Tshisekedi.

It should be noted that on the proposal of the national elected of Nord Kivu, all the elected representatives of the 26 provinces of DRC agreed to deduct USD 500 from their emoluments, as a war effort and to support the soldiers at the front.

The national elected  who agreed during the plenary on Tuesday, May 11th, sent a message of support to FARDC and PNC engaged in operations under the state of siege in Nord Kivu and Ituri before reaffirm their determination to support the Head of State to put an end to the killings of the population in the east of the country.

In addition, the United Nations stabilization mission in DRC (MONUSCO) has expressed its readiness to offer its full support to Sama Lukonde Government to face the challenges related to insecurity.

MONUSCO intends to offer its full support to the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Government has an Action Program which includes a certain number of measures for which we are mandated to come in support of the government”, François Grignon told the press after an exchange on May 11th, 2021 with Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge.
