Kinshasa, September 14th, 2021 (CPA).- The President of the Republic Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo and the First Lady Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi received on Sunday evening, their first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19, at the presidential clinic of the city of the African Union in Kinshasa. Head of State Felix Tshisekedi said he was relieved to have taken his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, before appealing to all Congolese to be vaccinated. « The vaccine remains the best indicated solution for the moment in the face of covid-19 », he declared, before concluding, « For having lost several parents and relatives, I am better placed to testify on the ravages caused by this pandemic”.

The presidential couple took this opportunity to launch the second phase of vaccination in DRC.
For his part, the Special Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of universal health coverage, Dr. Roger Kamba, confirmed the presence in DRC of over 250,000 doses of Moderna vaccine as well as the imminent arrival of several thousand doses of Johnson & Johnson, Astra-zeneca and Pfizer vaccines.
