President Félix Tshisekedi expected in Brussels next September

Kinshasa, August 11th, 2021 (CPA).- The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium in the DRC, Jo Indekeu announced the visit next September to Brussels, Belgium of the President of the Republic Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, at the end of the discussions Tuesday in Kinshasa, with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Christophe Lutundula Apala Pen’Apala.

The visit, said the Belgian diplomat, is part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

According to the same source, it will be a question of evaluating the first visit of President Félix Tshisekedi carried out 2 years ago in Belgium.

Ambassador Jo Indekeu said that there is in perspective, a new bilateral development cooperation plan with the DRC, which will run from 2023 to 2027 in order to meet the needs of the Congolese State and the Congolese population. .

« The bilateral plan that we are in the process of setting up will take up the same axes as that of the past, with some innovations to respond to the various requests that we have also had on the Congolese side, » said Ambassador Jo Indekeu, stressing that this new plan will be discussed next September, in Belgium

Regarding the priority sectors of the said bilateral plan, the Belgian diplomat suggested that the two parties continue to work on the various sectors in which they are already engaged, namely: agriculture, health and education.

According to him, Belgium and the DRC are also working in new areas, highlighting youth, women and social protection.

“It will be another joint but in the same sector,” he said.
