Capacity building workshop for HRDs and FDDH on human fundamentals in Bandundu

Bandundu, June 19th, 2021 (CPA).- 20 human rights defenders (DDH) and women human rights defenders (FDDH), from the various human rights defense structures working in Bandundu, have been participating since Thursday for three days in the workshop training course on human fundamentals, organized in Bandundu, by the Congolese league for the defense, promotion and popularization of laws and human rights (LIDEPROV), with the support of the European Union in the DRC.

The HRD project manager of Kwilu, Me. Valentin Mbalanda suggested that this activity, which fits in with the continuity of the old projects linked to the protection of human rights, consists in equipping participants with knowledge on human rights, essentially in the context of monitoring, security and self-protection, gender and gender-based violence and work and role of human rights defenders.

The objective, he said, is to get the population to know these fundamental rights in order to better claim them through the strengthening of the operational capacities of women, young human rights defenders in the area of ​​democracy and human rights. human rights.

It aims to contribute to the consolidation of the rule of law and to the strengthening of the role of HRD and FDDH defenders as well as that of public authorities, continued Me. Mbalanda.
