COVID-19: response measures against the 3rd wave reflected in Kasai Oriental

Mbuji-Mayi, June 19th , 2021 (CPA).- The interim governor of Kasai Oriental, Ms. Jeannette Longa Muswamba, late Wednesday evening, echoed the message of the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, relating to protection against the 3rd wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

The head of the provincial executive who read this message for the attention of her constituents, in the meeting room of the provincial governorate, recalled that Kasai Oriental recorded more than 40 cases tested positive including 8 deaths, while indicating that this wave is more contagious and formidable than the first two.

Faced with this situation, she noted, the Head of State Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo has taken, in accordance with his constitutional prerogative relating to the protection of the Congolese people, a series of measures for which the provincial government has a duty. patriotic to pass them on and to enforce them without fault.

This concerns, among other things, the reinstatement of the curfew from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. and that for its execution, mixed PNC-FARDC patrols will be established and any offender will be severely punished. Wearing a mask is made compulsory in public places as well as regular hand washing with soap and water and taking the temperature at the market entrance.

On the same occasion, the provincial authority urged motorcycle taxi drivers to carry only one passenger on their vehicles in order to avoid rapid contamination in the community. ACP/
