Inongo, June 5th, 2021(CPA).- Provincial deputies from Mai-Ndombe have authorized legal proceedings against the provincial governor, Paul Mputu Boleilanga, accused of embezzlement of public funds. The elected representatives of the people took this option at the end of a plenary session recently, organized to establish on the case of this governor of province of Mai-Ndombe accused of embezzlement of public funds. This plenary session was devoted to the vote of the indictment of the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation for obtaining from the Assembly the authorization for the investigation of the file for the provincial governor in connection with the offenses. Out of 17 MPS present, 16 voted for and one against, 4 deputies were absent. Indeed after the adoption on November 5, 2020 of a resolution of impeachment of the governor, the president of the Provincial Assembly Léonard Makombo Ovil’oshe had lodged a complaint against Mputu Boleilanga at the general prosecutor’s office near the court of cassation for the mismanagement of public funds. It should be noted that a group of activists from the Union for Democracy and Progress (UDPS) had walked in the morning to express their dissatisfaction with this plenary session aimed at destroying the governor, a member of their party.
