Nurses from Mwene Ditu public hospitals on strike

Mwene Ditu, June 12th, 2021 (CPA).- Nurses from public hospitals in the town of Mwene Ditu, in Lomami province, have been on strike since last Wednesday for a period of three renewable days, with a view to demand from the government of the DRC, the improvement of their living conditions, noted the CPA.

Jean-Claude KanyikiMashi, president of the National Union of Nurses of Congo (UNIC) contacted Thursday by the CPA, justifies this movement by the fact that the men in white coats claim the alignment of agents at the risk premium and demand without delay, the implementation of ad hoc memoranda of understanding and the strict execution of budgetary appropriations in accordance with the finance law for the current year.

The population of the railway town deplore the fact that this situation disrupts the good care of patients in the various health structures during this period of the resurgence of the viral and fatal pandemic with COVID-19 and other acute respiratory infections due to the dry season. ACP/
