Kinshasa, June 14th, 2021 (CPA).- The Democratic Republic of Congo surpassed the threshold of thirty-five thousand (35,000) cases of Covid-19 on Saturday by registering two hundred and eighty (280) new confirmed cases, out of 1,358 samples tested, reports the daily bulletin of the Technical Secretariat of the National Multisectoral Response Committee to the Covid-19 pandemic, which reached the CPA on Sunday.
Of the 280 new cases notified, there are 257 in Kinshasa, 17 in Kongo Central, 3 in Tshopo, 2 in North Kivu and 1 in Ituri. No new deaths have been recorded among the confirmed cases. In addition, there is no new cure in the Covid treatment centers (CTCo), nor among the patients followed at home.
This bulletin also indicates that the city of Kinshasa exceeded by the same day the bar of twenty-five thousand (25,000) confirmed cases of Covid-19, registering two hundred and fifty-seven (257) new confirmed cases.
Since the declaration of the epidemic on March 10, 2020, the cumulative number of cases is 35,228, including 35,227 laboratory-confirmed cases and 1 probable case. In total, there were 834 deaths and 27,825 people cured.
The Covid-19 test is free in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, except for travelers who will have to pay US $ 30.
Twenty-three of the twenty-six provinces in the DRC are affected by this epidemic. These are the provinces of Kinshasa (25,143 cases), North Kivu (2,992 cases), Haut-Katanga (2,072 cases), Kongo Central (1,842 cases), South Kivu (944 cases), Lualaba (922 cases), Tshopo (418 cases), Ituri (322 cases), Haut-Uélé (219 cases), Equateur (84 cases), Haut-Lomami (49 cases), Nord-Ubangi (44 cases), Maniema (42 cases), Kasaï (31 cases), Kasaï Central (30 cases), Kasaï Oriental (24 cases), Tanganyika (20 cases), Kwilu (9 cases ), Sud-Ubangi (7 cases), Bas-Uélé (6 cases), Kwango (5 cases), Tshuapa (3 cases) and Mai-Ndombe (2 cases).
566 new people vaccinated against Covid-19 with the AstraZeneca vaccine
The same source informs that five hundred and sixty-six (566) new people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 with the AstraZeneca vaccine on Friday, June 11th, 2021, including 257 in North Kivu, 108 in South Kivu and 101 in Kinshasa .
Since the start of vaccination in the DRC on April 19th, 2021, with the AstraZeneca vaccine, 33,613 people have been vaccinated in 7 provinces until June 11, 2021.
The number of people vaccinated by province is as follows: 16,765 in Kinshasa, 5,887 in Haut-Katanga, 3,533 in North Kivu, 3,264 in Kongo Central, 2,290 in Lualaba, 1,537 in South Kivu and 337 in Haut -Uélé.
