CAN handball senior women 2021: DR Congo storms Cameroon on Saturday

Kinshasa, June 12th, 2021 (CPA).- The DR Congo senior women’s national handball team, the Leopards, will attack the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon, Saturday in Yaoundé, on behalf of the 3rd day of the 24th African Cup of Nations (CAN).

The beasts of DR Congo and those of Cameroon have chained two successive victories in as many matches in group B, against Nigeria and Kenya, during the first two days. After Nigeria, beaten by 35-16 (half-time 18-3), DR Congo again got rid of Kenya by a score of 42-16 (21-04 at half-time).

The main coach of the Ladies Leopards tested positive

The main coach of the Ladies Leopards, Célestin Mpoua, tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday by Cameroonian doctors, after he had just been vaccinated before his departure for the country of Paul Bia. Following this positive test, the Congolese delegation requested the second opinion of the African Handball Confederation.
