Kinshasa, June 19th, 2021 (CPA).- Amani and Bikira, will face each other in the final of the 12th Congo Women’s Football Cup, Sunday at the Martyrs de la Pentecôte stadium, in a Kinshasa derby.
The Bikira-Mazembe match was a meeting that looked like a pre-letter final and in which each of the two clubs did not want to let go. At the start of the game, Bikira – which means « Immaculate » in the Swahili language, shoves Mazembe and finds the net on the opening scoring of Ngalula Deborah (7th). Maintaining this result until the break gives Bikira an opportunity to hope, whose mission is half-done.
On resumption, strong of his delay and the danger that awaits him, Mazembe presses the accelerator and crisscrosses the playing area in order to catch up again. He won his case thanks to the achievement of Muyenga Mawanda (77th). A sigh of relief not at all sufficient for the qualification. The goal of the difference sought by both sides is elusive until the last whistle.
The fateful penalty shootout was in favor of the girls from Bikira who, very clever, won by 7-6 for a total of 8 tries for each team.
Following this elimination, Mazembe led by Jeef Kapondo Kantanga sees his dream of playing the first African Football League shattered for the benefit of Bikira and Amani, the two finalists of the 12th edition.
