Kenge, October 13th, 2026 (CPA).– Ten local operators in Kwango province, southwestern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), have received agricultural inputs from the Social Fund as part of the 2026–2027 agricultural campaign, during a workshop marking the launch of activities under the Value Chain Development Support Project (PADCV-PTA).
“Following the launch of the 2026–2027 agricultural campaign by the national Minister of Agriculture, the national coordinator of the Social Fund of the Republic assigned us to come to Kenge for this workshop to launch agricultural activities. This year, we have made seeds, fertilizers, fuel and engine oils available to the various local operators,” said Bienvenu Bila-Bila, head of the Social Fund of the Republic’s mission.
According to him, the inputs will be distributed to the operators concerned according to the areas to be planted during the current agricultural season.“The Social Fund will now go into the field to distribute these inputs. Overall, we have approximately 2,090 hectares to be planted with cassava, maize and soybeans,” he explained. On this occasion, Mr. Bila-Bila introduced members of a private organization known as “Mbongwana,” which is responsible for monitoring local operators and certifying the expected results under the project.
For his part, Anaclet Kapaya, the governor’s special adviser in charge of Agriculture, said that a monitoring structure was already operational in the province. He urged local operators to make proper use of the agricultural inputs that will be provided by the Social Fund of the Republic (FSR).
Funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the PADCV-PTA is being implemented by the Social Fund of the Republic at the initiative of the Head of State, as part of his vision of “making the soil more valuable than the subsoil,” it is recalled.
