Agricultural campaign 2026–2027: an orientation workshop for local operators held in Ngandajika

Kinshasa, October 13th, 2026 (CPA). – An orientation workshop for local operators, followed by the distribution of seeds, was organised in Ngandajika (in Lomami Province), in the centre of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as part of the launch of the 2026–2027 agricultural season, according to a press release seen by the CPA on Tuesday.“The Social Fund of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FSRDC) has organised an orientation workshop for local operators, followed by the distribution of seeds and fertiliser as part of the launch of the 2026–2027 agricultural season,” the statement read.

According to the source, this workshop has allowed local operators to be reminded of their roles, the procedures to be followed and the responsibilities they must assume in implementing the agricultural season. “Following this stage, the FSRDC proceeded with the distribution of agricultural inputs intended to support production activities,” the source added.

Through this initiative, the FSRDC aims to strengthen support for producers and local operators in order to boost the agricultural season in Lomami and contribute to the realization, in this province, of the presidential vision of ‘the soil’s revenge on the subsoil’, the press release states. “In Ngandajika, the message is clear: first provide guidance to stakeholders, then distribute the inputs, to ensure a better-organised, more closely monitored and resolutely results-oriented agricultural season,” has emphasized the source. The ceremony was chaired by Philippe Ngwala, national coordinator of the FSRDC, assisted by his deputy, Nathan Dibwe. It took place in the presence of Doris Kayoka, provincial Minister in charge of Agriculture, and Patrick Nsubula, administrator of the Ngandajikaterritory.

It was also attended by advisers from the Agriculture College of the Presidency of the Republic, experts from the FSRDC, experts from the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, local agricultural operators and members of the Mbongwana Ya Congo association. Co-ordinated by the FSRDC and funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Value Chain Development Support Project in support of the Agricultural Transformation Programme (PADCV-PTA) is continuing its roll-out with a view to supporting agricultural value chains, improving local production and strengthening food security in DRC.
