Brussels, November 6th, 2025 (CPA) – A concert by Congolese singer Mbilia Bel in support of women victims of the atrocities of Rwanda’s war of aggression against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), CPA has learned from the organizers on Thursday. « This is a humanitarian concert in support of women victims of sexual violence and other atrocities committed by AFC/M23 rebels supported by the Rwandan army in eastern DRC. Maman Mbilia is already in Brussels for this event on November 7th, 2025, at the Madeleine Hall. This evening also marks the return to the stage of the legendary female voice of Congolese Rumba after her traffic accident in Kinshasa, » has confirmed Jules Nsana, the singer’s manager and producer. “I think this will be a great opportunity for Maman Mbilia Bel to reconnect and express her gratitude to all her fans and music lovers who have supported and comforted her during her hospitalization until now. It is a highly anticipated event in the Belgian capital, which is successfully welcoming the singer back after several years on the European stage,” he has added. The author of the famous song “Beyanga” has visited the Matonge neighbourhood (hot spot) on Tuesday, considered as a hub of the Congolese community in Brussels. “Mbilia Bel has made this trip to Matonge in Brussels to confirm not only her presence but also her stage production in the Belgian capital. She has also taken part in a march in Anderlecht for peace in DRC. It was a moment of closeness, humility, and truth,” he has said. And to add: “The vendors, shopkeepers, exotic traders, the fans: moms, dads, and young people have given us a warm welcome, which proves that they really needed to see, hear, and experience the voice and performance of Mama Mbilia in Belgium.”

Mbilia warmly welcomed by the Brussels authorities

The “Doyenne of Rumba” has also been welcomed by Lydia Mutyebele, a Brussels federal deputy of Congolese origin, as part of the celebrations for the grand return of Rumba and the series of events in Belgium. For Jules Nsana, everything is in place to ensure a festive evening to the rhythms of the great Congolese Rumba singer’s wonderful music. “In any case, there are no concerns on the physical or artistic front. Your artist is in great shape. She has held several rehearsals in Kinshasa and here in Brussels. She is well prepared to give the audience at Madeleine a performance worthy of the occasion,” he has reassured us. It should be noted that this concert will be the first for 69-year-old Cleopatre Marie-Claire Mboyo Mbilia Bel after a two-month medical break following her accident on September 7th, 2025, on the road to Kinshasa while on her way to the airport for a trip to Belgium for a performance scheduled for September 20th at Madeleine in Brussels.
