Kinshasa, December 17th, 2025 (CPA) – A formal framework for judicial cooperation between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Madagascar was envisaged on Wednesday between the Congolese Minister in charge of Justice and his Madagascan counterpart, according to the ministry’s Twitter account consulted on Wednesday. ‘I discussed with my Madagascan counterpart, Ms Fanirisoa Ernaivo, the establishment of a formal framework for judicial cooperation between the DRC and Madagascar. Ms Valérie Kabeya, our ambassador to Qatar, also took part in this meeting,’ said Minister Guillaume Ngefa, quoted by the source. ‘Together, we discussed the prospect of concluding a Memorandum of Understanding to structure this collaboration in a spirit of sharing experiences and mutual reinforcement,’ he added.
For Minister Ngefa, the fight against corruption, an area in which Madagascar has made significant progress on the African continent, was also at the heart of their discussions. ‘I am convinced that this partnership will contribute to building stronger, more credible institutions that respect fundamental rights,’ added the Minister in charge of Justice.
