Agriculture: the strengthening of investors’ confidence in DRC at the centre of discussions

Kinshasa, October 13th, 2025 (CPA).- The strengthening of investors’ confidence in the agricultural sector has been the focus of discussions on Monday in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, during a meeting between the Minister in charge of Agriculture and the Minister in charge of Planning, with a view to build investors’ confidence in the agricultural sector.

‘We have reviewed key reforms in the agricultural sector with the Minister in charge of Agriculture, Muhindo Nzangi, with the aim of strengthening investors’ confidence in the agricultural sector and ensuring better coordination of reforms that support the country’s economic development,’ has declared Guylain Nyembo, Minister of State in charge of Planning.

This meeting is part of a series of consultations with so-called ‘reformist’ ministers to ensure better monitoring of the implementation of priority actions included in the Digital Table. In addition, the presentation and the dissemination of the Digital Table for Monitoring Business Climate Reforms is intensifying.

It is in this context that the meeting between Mr Nyembo and his colleague in charge of agriculture, Muhindo Nzangi, took place. The discussions have focused on reforms specific to the agricultural sector, in particular the operationalization of the National Agricultural Development Fund (FNDA) and the updating of the Agricultural Law, particularly Articles 16 and 82. Supported by the Business Climate Unit of the Presidency of the Republic, this initiative involves 18 reforming ministries. Launched on September 5th, it enables real-time monitoring of the reforms undertaken by the Government. ‎With this new step, the process of modernising the business climate in DRC continues to move forward in a spirit of transparency, performance and partnership between the state and the private sector.
