Congolese Bar invited to general assembly scheduled for July in Maputo

Kinshasa, May 25^th, 2026 (CPA).- The National Bar of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been invited to the General Assembly of lawyers of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), scheduled for July 2^nd in Maputo, Mozambique, according to correspondence consulted on Monday by CPA. “Madam and gentlemen presidents of bar associations, my dear and honored colleagues, I have the privilege to inform you of the holding of the 25th Annual Conference and General Assembly of SADC lawyers, in Maputo, Republic of Mozambique, from July 2^nd to 4^th, 2026,” the letter stated. The regional meeting, described as important in the correspondence, will bring together bar associations and legal professionals from SADC member States around the theme: “Strengthening SADC resilience through law, promoting industrialization, energy transition and agricultural transformation.” “In view of the major importance of these proceedings for our profession and for strengthening regional cooperation among Bars, I invite interested lawyers to make the necessary arrangements for their participation in these proceedings,” the same correspondence added.
