Kinshasa, March 26th, 2026 (CPA).– Commitment to the promotion of Kikongo and the enhancement of Congolese culture was praised by the Congolese diaspora in France, following a book fair marked by enriching exchanges with authors, CPA learned on Thursday from a cultural facilitator.
“Commitment to the promotion of Kikongo was strongly praised by the Congolese diaspora in France, which expressed during the Book Fair its attachment to the language and culture, as well as its willingness to see these values passed on to younger generations,” said Ngizulu Nsemi, cultural facilitator. These exchanges helped highlight the willingness of Congolese in the diaspora to pass on their cultural heritage to younger generations. “Several parents came to see me to express their gratitude, explaining that thanks to this work, their children are now learning their language and culture, elements they have not always had the opportunity to transmit themselves,” he said with satisfaction. According to the cultural facilitator, this momentum constitutes a strong signal for the preservation of national languages and cultural identity. “Your encouragement and your commitment to learning Kikongo give me even more strength to continue this mission. Together, we are helping to preserve our identity and pass on our heritage to future generations,” he added. Mr. Ngizulu also stressed the importance of such initiatives in a context of globalization where local languages are sometimes threatened. “These moments remind me why this work is essential. Language is a pillar of our identity, and its transmission is a collective responsibility that we must assume with pride,” he emphasized. Reiterating his gratitude, he praised the mobilization and support of the Congolese diaspora living in France. “Thank you very much for your trust.” He concluded.
