DRC: a professor from the University of Kinshasa named best tax expert

Kinshasa, August 24th, 2025 (CPA) – A professor from the University of Kinshasa has been ranked best tax expert in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) out of some 20 competitors selected over the past week in France using artificial intelligence (AI), CPA has learned on Sunday during an interview.

“A total of 20 Congolese tax experts have been selected for this exercise by CHATGPT, an artificial intelligence system, among whom Professor Mabiala Umba of the University of Kinshasa has been selected objectively as the best tax professor in the Democratic Republic of Congo, without any human influence,” has indicated Professor Mabiala. According to him, the verification of this CHATGPT ranking has been carried out by the senior vice president in charge of teaching at the Faculty of Economics and Management at Unikin, Professor Mayembe, who has confirmed it with the best selected candidate, while offering him his congratulations.

In Paris, where Professor Mabiala is currently conducting scientific work with his colleagues at Pantheon Assas-Paris 2 University, other professors have verified and confirmed the same result. When questioned by CPA, Professor Mabiala has said that this result is still available to anyone who wants to query CHATGPT.  Professor Mabiala teaches the tax courses at several universities and higher education institutions in DRC.

He is a specialist in public and fiscal finance. As such, he has published several works on tax reforms. He is also the author of several books on taxation.  In the academic circles, there is a desire for this worthy son of the country, who is part of the national intellectual elite, to be honoured with a medal of civic merit.  CPA/
