DRC-Linafoot: Motema Pembe invited to a working meeting on Saturday in Kinshasa

Kinshasa, August 5th 2026 (CPA).- DC Motema Pembe (DCMP) of Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has been invited by the National Football League (Linafoot) to take part in a working session scheduled for Saturday in the capital, according to a statement from the football governing body. “The Management Committee of the National Football League (Linafoot) invites the Board of Directors of Daring Club Motema Pembe of Kinshasa (DCMP/K) to take part in a working session to be held on Saturday August 8th 2026 at 11.00 am at its headquarters in the municipality of Gombe,” read in the statement. According to the source, this meeting will enable the Management Committee to shed full light on the club’s current crisis, which has arisen from disagreements amongst its leaders.

Furthermore, Linafoot has invited the club to attend with five (5) members of its Board of Directors in order to carry out a thorough assessment. This internal conflict within Daring Club Motema Pembe (DCMP) reflects a deep rift between the Board of Directors, chaired by Jonas Mukamba, and the management committee led by Paul Kasembele. It should be emphasised that the institutional crisis rocking Daring Club Motema Pembe (DCMP) pits the Board of Directors, chaired by Jonas Mukamba, directly against the management committee, led by Paul Kasembele.

This structural conflict stems from an acute governance crisis, exacerbated by the club’s relegation to Ligue 2, the prolonged vacancy in the presidency, disputes over financial management and proven breaches of statutory obligations. Recognising the seriousness of the actions taken by the executive committee, the Board of Directors formally recorded its dismissal and voted to withdraw its confidence during the most recent Extraordinary General Meeting convened to clarify the situation. The executive committee’s rejection of this resolution has now created a situation of conflicting and contested dual leadership at the head of the club. As a reminder, the DCMP is currently being run by an interim committee led by Sandra Kaposa (chair) and Etienne Matoto (secretary). This team was officially appointed by the club’s patriarch, Jonas Mukamba, founder and chairman of the club’s Board of Directors.
