Kinshasa, July 10th, 2025 (CPA) – A new book entitled « Strategy to end military aggression in the Democratic Republic of Congo, M23: the conflict too far, » written by a local journalist, was presented on Thursday at the CPA with the aim of providing some answers to the country’s defense system.
« This book, based on my thesis for the 7th special course at the College of Advanced Studies in Strategy and Defense, is a carefully considered strategic response to refine our defense system. It proposes concrete strategies to put an end to military aggression in the Democratic Republic of Congo, » said Guylain Tshibamba, the author of the book. According to him, the book reveals the insidious mechanisms of war of aggression and the suffering inflicted on the population, based on reports from international organizations and testimonies. The author also pointed out that the book ‘Strategy to End Military Aggression in the DR Congo’ is a contribution to calling on the Congolese people to mobilize collectively to defend the integrity of their territory.
« The war that is currently taking place is not just a military affair; it is an existential issue and therefore a challenge that concerns all Congolese people. Peace and security can only be ensured through collective mobilization,” he said, before launching an appeal: This is a call to action, a call for solidarity from every citizen, because together we have the power to change the course of our history. I call on us to commit ourselves, to stand up against the unacceptable. Together, let us refuse to forget and call for action. » For Guylain Tshibamba, beyond the alarming observations, the book proposes innovative solutions to end the conflict in eastern DRC, which has claimed thousands of lives, namely a review of military doctrines and a strengthening of the capacities of the Congolese Armed Forces.
Published by L’Harmattan, this 166-page book was launched on Monday 7 July in Kinshasa, the country’s capital, by the Minister of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya.
An expert in strategic communication and crisis management, Guylain Tshibamba is a graduate of the College of Advanced Strategic and Defence Studies (CHESD).
