Mambasa, October 25th, 2026 (CPA). – The population of the Mambasa territory, in Ituri in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has been urged on Sunday by the local supervisor of the Environment Department to step up hygiene and sanitation measures, in particular by installing hand-washing facilities, with a view to preventing Ebola virus disease.
“Every plot of land should have a hand-washing facility at its entrance. This measure also applies to public services, shops and other places open to the public,” Robert Tchedia, an engineer and supervisor of the Mambasa Environment and Sustainable Development Department has declared.
He has emphasised that maintaining cleanliness in living and working environments is a vital safeguard in public health prevention efforts. Mr Robert Tchedia has emphasised the need to use these facilities regularly, particularly in busy areas.
Finally, he has called on residents, public service staff and business operators to play an active part in sanitation activities and to strictly adhere to preventive guidelines.
