Fecofa: Bosco-Michel Mwehu withdraws his candidacy from the presidential election.

Kinshasa, May 6th, 2026 (CPA).- The former president of the National Football League (Linafoot), Bosco-Michel Mwehu, a candidate for the presidency of the Congolese Football Association (Fecofa) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), has announced on Wednesday the withdrawal of his candidacy for personal reasons, according to a letter. “I hereby inform you of my decision to withdraw my candidacy for the presidency of Fecofa, for reasons of personal convenience. This withdrawal is made freely, voluntarily and without reservation,” it is read. In this document, consulted on Wednesday at CPA, the former president of Linafoot renounces all claims related to the said procedure, as he would be grateful if you would take note of this withdrawal and take all the legal consequences thereof. It should be mentioned that after Bosco-Michel Mwehu’s withdrawal, only two candidates remain in the running for the presidency of Fecofa, namely: Veron Mosengo-Omba and Jean-Didier Massamba.  It should be reminded that it was in 2017 that Bosco-Michel Mwehu has been appointed president of the National Football League (Linafoot) by Fecofa.
