Kinshasa, July 30th, 2026 (CPA). – The TP Mazembe of Lubumbashi, in Haut-Katanga, in the south-east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is suspended from all competitions organised by the Congolese Football Association (Fecofa) for non-payment of a debt owed to AC Rangers, according to a letter from the Federation received on Thursday by CPA.“Consequently, TP Mazembe is suspended with immediate effect for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of notification of this decision. This suspension will remain in force until full payment of the sum of 85,000 ¢ owed to AC Rangers,” it is read. According to correspondence from the Disciplinary and Disputes Committee (CDC), the debt relates to the transfer of players Bossou Nzali Adam and Kazema Baso Josue. The case had been the subject of much debate and discussion, and was finally decided in Rangers’ favour. Since then, Mazembe has consistently refused to pay the debt. The CDC reminds us that a twenty-day grace period had been granted to TP Mazembe to settle this financial obligation, but without success. Upon the expiry of this grace period, the Federation notices that the club had still not complied. In accordance with the provisions of the Fecofa Disciplinary Code, the committee has decided to suspend TP Mazembe from all activities under the Federation’s jurisdiction until the debt has been settled in full. The decision also states that, should the failure to pay persist, the club risks exclusion from all competitions organised by Fecofa, in accordance with Article 63 of the Disciplinary Code.Furthermore, the Disciplinary and Disputes Committee has referred the matter to the National Football League (Linafoot) and other relevant bodies so that they may take all the sporting and administrative measures arising from this suspension.
