Football-Women’s Champions League: Mazembe, Gaborone, Mimosas and JKT in Group B

Kinshasa, October 27^th, 2025 (CPA)-. Mazembe from Lubumbashi, in the south-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has been placed in Group B alongside Mimosas, Gaborone United and JKT Queens, following the draw for the Women’s Champions League on Monday in Cairo, Egypt, according to the CAF website. ‘Reigning champions Mazembe Women’s Football Club will play in Group B alongside Asec Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire, Gaborone United of Botswana and JKT Queens of Tanzania,’ the website reported. According to the source, the Congolese will kick off their campaign on 9 November against Asec Mimosas of Côte d’Ivoire.  According to the source, this continental competition will take place from November 8^th to 21^st, 2025 in Egypt at two venues: the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia and the Right to Dream Stadium in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.  The opening match of the tournament, scheduled to take place at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, will be an all-North African clash between FC Masar, who finished third in the last edition, and AS Far, the 2022 African champions. Two other new teams will also be making their debut in this edition of the championship: 15 Agosto from Equatorial Guinea, who will be taking on USFAS from Mali. It should be noted that the winner of the fifth edition of this competition will pocket USD 600,000 (six hundred thousand US dollars), while the runner-up will receive USD 400,000 (four hundred thousand US dollars). Below are the two groups for the 5th edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League: Group A: FCF Masar (Egypt), AS Far (Morocco), 15 de Agosto (Equatorial Guinea) and USFAS (Mali); Group B: FCF Mazembe (DRC), FCF Asec Mimosas (Côte d’Ivoire), Gaborone United (Botswana), JKT Queens (Tanzania).
