Haut-Katanga: British education expert on working mission in Lubumbashi

Lubumbashi, February 22^nd, 2026 (CPA) – A British education expert is in Lubumbashi, in the province of Haut-Katanga in the south-eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, to explore opportunities in the education sector, CPA learned Saturday from a diplomatic source. “We held a meeting with the Acting Deputy Mayor, Mr. Kafwimbi. The discussions focused on exploring opportunities in the field of education here in the Haut-Katanga region, specifically in Lubumbashi. The objective was to define what falls within the vocational framework,” said Tzmir Ismaël, Africa Education Director for the United Kingdom’s Department for Business and Trade. This exploratory mission is expected to constitute an opportunity for the city of Lubumbashi and to contribute to strengthening the workforce in the city’s education sector, it was indicated.
