Human Rights Commission: the president solicited to be mentor of a university cohort

Kinshasa, August 18th, 2026 (CPA). – The president of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has been solicited, on Tuesday, by students from the 2025–2026 cohort of the University of Information and Communication (Unisic) to be their mentor, during a meeting in Kinshasa. “At the threshold of our entry into the professional world, we, the students of the University of Information and Communication Sciences (Unisic), formerly Ifasic, are fully aware of the responsibility that rests with us to promote communication in the service of citizenship, democracy and republican values. It is in this spirit that we have unanimously decided to place our Class of 2025–2026 under your patronage, respectfully requesting that it be named the ‘Paul Nsapu Mukulu Class’,” has declared Sagesse Doumbi, one of the representatives of this class. “Bearing your name would represent a commitment on our part to promote the values of responsibility, integrity, human dignity and service to the nation,” he has continued. “This choice is a tribute to your commitment at the helm of the National Human Rights Commission, particularly in the promotion and protection of fundamental rights, the monitoring and documentation of human rights violations, and the strengthening of protection for human rights defenders. Your work resonates particularly well with our course: informing, raising awareness and communicating about rights and freedoms also contributes to their protection,” he has added. Therefore, these students have taken this opportunity to invite President Nsapu to attend their graduation ceremony, scheduled for September 5th at this alma mater.ACP/
