Justice: the new minister promises a framework based on discipline

Kinshasa, August 17th, 2025, (CPA). – The new Minister of State in charge of Justice, Guillaume Ngefa, has promised on Friday to establish a working environment based on discipline, among other things, during an inspection of his ministry’s offices in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), we have learned on Saturday from a press release.  ‘This visit, which marks the first contact between the Minister of State in charge of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Guillaume Ngefa Atondoko, and his colleagues, is part of his desire to establish a framework based on discipline, rigour and proximity,’ it is read in the statement from the ministry’s communications unit.

As a reminder, during the recent handover, the current Minister of State in charge of Justice had committed to focus on improving the work of those involved in the country’s judicial system, training magistrates and judicial staff, and fighting corruption and impunity, starting by setting an example.  He had also promised the modernisation of the tools used in the justice sector to make it faster, more transparent and more accessible.  The Minister of State Ngefa had committed, in the coming months, to humanise the prisons and to improve detention conditions in the country, paying particular attention to local justice, especially for the victims, the young people and the remote communities.  CPA/ Muyoyo/ Kazadi
